2011-06-26 Lakeside Golf Course The 6th Annual Jordan Wayne Allen Foundation Golf Benefit

The 6th Annual Jordan Wayne Allen Foundation Golf Benefit

The Jordan Wayne Allen Foundation was created in 2005 after the death of Jordan Wayne Allen. His death was the result of an enlarged heart. Jordan nor his family had any knowledge prior to his death that his heart had enlarged. The foundation was established so Jordan could continue to give back to those he loved. Each year two scholarships are awarded in Jordan's name. One scholarship is awarded to a seventh grade student attending Most Precious Blood going into the eighth grade. There is also a scholarship awarded to a ninth grade student attending Bishop Dwenger High School the following year.

The 6th Annual JWA Foundation Golf Benefit will be held Saturday, June 25th from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Golf Course. If you need a registration form for team entry or hole sponsorship, please e-mail Josh at harelspoo@aol.com.

2011-10-14 Olson ALS Foundation The 10th Annual Olson ALS Foundation Auction/Dinner
The 10th Annual Olson ALS Foundation Dinner & Benefit Auction
Plan on joining the Olson family for their 10th Annual Dinner & Benefit Auction. Details are coming soon! Guests will enjoy dinner, entertainment, and a silent and live auction to benefit the Olson Foundation's quest for a cure for ALS!
The Olson ALS Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established to financially support treatment research for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.  Our mission is to fund research that will discover methods of improving the quality of life for those afflicted with this devastating neurological disease!  Ultimately, we are searching for a cure!
ALS can strike anyone!  A-myo-trophic comes from the Greek language. "A" means no or negative.  "Myo" refers to muscle and "Trophic" means nourishment.  "Amyotrophic" means "No muscle nourishment".  When muscle has no nourishment, it "atrophies" or wastes away.  "Lateral" identifies the areas in a person's spinal cord where portions of the nerve cells signaling and controlling the muscles are located.  As this area degenerates, it leads to scarring or hardening ("sclerosis") in the region.  It is estimated that approximately 5,600 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year.  With your help, we can put an end to this suffering!

Saturday, October 14th, 2006 -- 2006 Inaugural Charity Toy Auction to Benefit the Fort Wayne Children's Foundation and Kids' Law

Fort Wayne Children's Foundation has supported organizations in their fight against child abuse since 1994, and is very excited to raise financial support for Kids' Law by their annual toy auction.  By acting as courtroom advocates for abused and neglected children, Kids' Law attorneys are responsible for executing the court's decisions for the best care for the child in need.

BOB CHARLESTON WITH SPECIAL GUEST ICE-T

Kids' Law is the dream of three attorneys who wanted to make things a little easier in the lives of children who are involved in the legal system through no fault of their own.  The Kids' Law attorneys act proactively as Guardians Ad Litem representing the best interests of children in child abuse and neglect, paternity, custody, visitation and delinquency disputes.  Kids' Law works diligently to protect the rights of the children they represent both in and out of the courtroom, along with acting as a voice in the courtroom for these children.

The need for advocacy for these children is tremendous.  Every ten seconds a child is abused or neglected in the United States.  This is a staggering statistic that only gets worse when you realize that child abuse and neglect are significantly under-reported.

Currently, the Kids' Law attorneys and staff have represented over 1,500 children in 2006.  Without the watchful eye of the Guardians Ad Litem from Kids' Law, many of these children would never have the opportunity to thrive in today's society.
